July 27th, 2012 3 week open now.   Leave a comment

The weather was good so I decided to make some more snapshots.

Because I followed the whole build by foot I know just how to find the nice places.

I like how the track fits in these surroundings.

Till next time?

July 6th, 2012 The first day of Operation !   Leave a comment

It’s OPEN!

The Bocksbergbob

No comment needed I think. 😉

It’s a very nice track, with the double helix you can feel some good G’s in the curves.

All ages seem to enjoy the ride on the “Bocksbergbob”

The electrical circuits are being connected.

Nice , yes?

The wheels that guide the wire will be covered.

What? Braking? I never use the brakes on such rides, do you?

On Friday 6th July 2012 at 14:00 it will be open?

There where a few “hole” still in the track about one week ago, so what has happenend?

The “amazing”-looking double helix.

Connected with the bridge and …

All the way to the rest of the track.

And on top all the track is done too.

Will that be the first car down the track?

The cable for the lifthill is in place too.

Really nice looking helix, ending low on the ground, and that twice during both helixes. That part of the mountain has a steeper slope and the “Alpine Coaster” comes in “high” because of the bridge over a road.

Here you can see how they keep the tension on the lifthillcable.

Yet an other car.

It seems that the electrical systems have to be put in place and testet by the TÃœV in the first few days of July.

Since they have put the deadline for the opening now on 6th July 2012, they have got a bigger crew working on the track.

So what has to be done?

The building got a roof done.

The “coaster”-track trough the building has to be put in including a first curve.

The number of parts in storage became a lot less.

The motor that will power the cable that pulls the coaster-cars back up the mountain is in place.

And so are the guidewheels for the cable.

What about the double-helix?

Yes, very high of the ground indeed !

And connected to the rest.

A upstanding metal-plate was inserted in the track.

The last curve, of the track leading the riders onto the lifthill.

I think those other parts with the big wheels etc will be build there.

Originally it was planned to open beginning of June, but due to weather there where several problems etc.

Let’s see how it will go the upcoming 12-13 days.

Some parts of the double helix are really high of the ground ! Up to 9-10 meters.

A view from the other side.

The building is progressing aswell.

But still a lot of work has to be done , the original opening was planned for beginning june 2012.

It’s time for a somewhat “complicated” part of the build.

Some parts lying on the ground.

Others allready standing up.

Kept in place with what we saw a few updates ago.

Still a lot more work has to be done.

The Alpine Coaster is suppose to open on 1st July 2012 !

A few days had past since my last venture on the mountain, what has happenend inbetween?

So the end of the coaster is connected now to the braking/transport-area.

It seems that the welding-equipment was stolen.

Yes still a bit ground-work to be done.

Top is reached.

Such a new ride requires some “power”.

Building looks nice too.

Remember the Wieli? I followed the whole trail now.

This Wieli here won’t be “just” a parralel track going up and down , but it will travel sideways down too, thus giving some nice views.

When this Wieli will be build is not fully known right now, but it will be close to 2 km long !

Last time they told me on Thursday more concrete will be poored.

So I went up the mountain, to find this truck.

I had to wait untill the next truck would come.

Yes they have to drive backwards for quite a bit on the mountain.

That’s some nice equipment in actio, right?

A few days I noticed that the color-coded-pole where in the woods… thus I wanted to follow them further.

Almost at the top… but where are the “red”-poler?

Aha, so uphill and downhill goes not parrallel all the way up/down the mountain, the downpart follows at the treeline 1 of the skislopes down.

Top of the other skislope, they cleared a bit of woods, because there will be build a second system to bring people back up the mountain. But when that will be build is unknown to me. It will be a system that’s used in those indoor-ski-places a lot.

The building that will house the “Alpine Coaster”

So all concrete must be done now… or is it?

Next time most likely more information on how the Wieli-track ( http://www.wiegandslide.com/wieli.html ) goes.

I was hoping to see some concrete being poored, but I was too late.. later this week I have a new chance.

As one can see only parts of the foundations where made, rest will follow…?

It still looks like a ski-jump, don’t you think?

That goes very fast indeed, wow !

The special parts where in place allready.

Now from the “Alpine Coaster” there are several “parts”… part from a lift ( > 60% of length ) and 2 downhillparts, and this small part. Where all the foundations are being made comes a very neat and complex part of the track… stay tuned.

When I walked back down I noticed.

Does somebody remember those?

Yes those marked out where the “Alpine Coaster” was going to be build, “blue” for uphillpart, “red” for downhill.

Some bridge kind of work has to be done here?

So what will that be?

Well fromth compagny that builds the “Alpine Coaster” will come a second “ride”, this time also on tracks, but not as a “Coaster-ride” but a way to get up and down from the mountain. It’s called Wieli from Wiegand ( http://www.wiegandslide.com/wieli.html ) . There are allready a few of these in operation, as far as I have seen the one here will be a parralel down/up track, there’s one build with a downhilltrack that makes several curves.

1 pole has both red and blue, that will be the beginning of the uphillpart, the downhill part bends into the woods in the back to make a cirkel back to the front.

Soon more?
